David Emanuel Academy traveled to Augusta Friday night for the first play-off game of the series. The Eagles entered the playoffs in the 8th position and took on number one ranked and undefeated Westminster of Augusta. The Eagles did take a loss Friday night as they were outmatched by the Wildcats 55-8.

Despite the loss, the Eagles performed well. When asked about the season, Head Coach TC Guyer said, “Through the 2024 season, we saw a lot of ups and downs. We faced a lot of injuries and adversity along the way, but I am proud of these kids. Proud of their effort, their willingness to show up to work each and every day. Our seniors set the example of the mindset and type of program that we want to build. I couldn't be prouder of them, or happier to have been their coach. No, this season wasn't as successful as we wanted to have, but I know the underclassmen are hungry. We will get back to work this offseason and look to reach our goals next fall. I again, cannot thank David Emanuel Academy, the administration, the board, and the school community enough for entrusting me with the opportunity to coach and lead such a great group of young men.”

As for Week 9, the team performed well and the following players earned Player of the Game Status:

The Ware's Bar-B-Q Week 9 Most Valuable Player - #25 Peyton Lee, Senior TE/DL, 5 Receptions, 38 Receiving Yards, 6 Tackles, 2 QB Pressures, 1 PBU; Week 9 Offensive Player of the Game - #7 Clayton Hood, Senior RB, 10 Carries, 81 Rushing Yards, 1 Touchdown; Week 9 Defensive Player of the Game - #1 Tucker Free, Sophomore LB, 8 Tackles, 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 PBU; Week 9 Special Teams Player of the Game - #21 Brody Fleming, Junior Punter, 7 Punts for 226 Yards, Long Punt of 45; Week 9 Practice Player of the Week - #52 Mason Fleming, Freshman OL/DL

This game wraps up the Eagles’ season. We are already looking forward to watching this program grow and come back bigger and better next Fall.
