Compatriots Dr. John Derden and John Tapley traveled 30 miles to Lyons to attend the Four Rivers Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution meeting. There were six in attendance, including the two members of the Wiregrass Chapter. Compatriot Tapley is a dual member of the Four Rivers Chapter.
Introduced by President Matt Oxley, Compatriot Derden presented his program on President George Washington’s 1791 trip through Georgia. After his presentation, Compatriot Derden presented President Oxley with five Georgia Society battlefield Event Chapter Flag Streamers that dual members of the Four Rivers Chapter had attended events and presented a wreath for the Four Rivers Chapter.
After discussing chapter business, President Oxley lead the Chapter in the SAR Recessional.
