President-Elect Renae McNeely called the November 29 meeting of Beta Beta Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Sudie Fulford Learning Center in the absence of President Denise Warnock. She welcomed everyone and thanked the hostesses for the beautiful Christmas decorations. Red poinsettias were centerpieces of tables as well as Santa Clauses from Gail Greenway’s vast collection.

Greenway, of the hostess committee, gave the invocation taken from a series of devotions called “Make Room for Christmas.” To make room for Christmas, one must make room for others, make room for hope, make room for peace, make room for joy, and make room for love.

Other hostesses included Chair Donna Godowns, Lynn Torrance, Bobbie Daughtry, Terri Sweat, Kristy Wimberly, Renae McNeely, Toney Golden and Kay Hooks.

After the meal, Projects Committee Chairman Melanie Frye discussed the successful children’s book collection for the health departments of our four-county service area. She also stated that goody bags for the 85 new teachers will be collected in January and the Bakeless Bake Sale for projects will be in February.

After the business portion of the meeting, Petite Garrett introduced Betsy Johnson who presented a beautiful Christmas musical program. She sang several favorites, including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and gave a history of the popular 1943 song. Another favorite, “O Holy Night” was presented.

The hostesses then drew numbers for poinsettia door prizes.
