Delayed tree planting project now complete at local dog park

The Emanuel County Humane Society (ECHS) met at local Bark in the Boro Dog Park on Saturday, November 21, to begin their long-awaited (due to Coved-19), beautification project that was approved last fall. Members gathered to plant three groups of river birch trees inside both areas of the dog park. These trees not only add to the beauty of the park, but will provide much needed shade for guests. The society is appreciative of The George’s Flower Shop for assisting with the trees, and also Tractor Supply Company for donating several bags of garden soil to assist in planting.

ECHS continues to assist the Betty Gambrell Animal Shelter and the community’s domestic animals in need with medications, vaccines, rescue assistance, projects, local events, and more.

Tony Mangreri, director of Swainsboro/Emanuel County Parks and Recreation Department, who initiated the dog park, also reports that the much-anticipated shelter over the benches in the dog park have been ordered from Handi-House and will be installed soon.
