The David Emanuel Academy varsity basketball teams squared off against Habersham at home on January 18. The Varsity Lady Eagles started the night off with a 49-40 win against the Habersham Patriots. In this matchup, Aubrey Williams led the team with 19 points, Addalyn Terwilliger had 11 points, Kyli Bell scored 8 points, Emma Proctor added 7 points, Chirsten McCoy had 3 points, and Molly Hammock scored 1 point.
Following the Lady Eagles, the Varsity boys’ basketball team played in a nail-biting game that came down to the final few seconds. In this game, Racyn Faircloth led the team with 21 points, Randon Williams scored 12 points, Billy Martin had 11 points, Jesse Moore contributed with 6 points, Tony Sutton added 2 points, and Peyton Lee had 1 point. Unfortunately, the Eagles came up short by one point with the final score being 54-53.
