David Emanuel Academy’s Varsity Eagles hosted Grace Christian Academy of Bainbridge at the Stillmore field this past Friday, October 16. Continuing on with their winning streak this year, the Eagles defeated their hosted guests 44-12.
Following the 7:30 p.m. kick-off, Banks Booth and Dane Arrington teamed together to score the first points of the evening by completing an 18-yard reception play. The two point attempt that followed was deemed unsuccessful.
Jesse Moore added an additional 6-point increase to the Eagle’s score after completing a 20-yard run for another Eagle touchdown. Booth passed the ball to Rylie Rowland for a 2-point attempt that was deemed successful, increasing the Eagle’s score 14-0.
Racyn Faircloth then ran the ball for another 50-yards, adding leverage for the Eagle team by increasing the score to 20-0. A 2-point play from Booth to Moore increased the Eagle’s odds over their opponents by raising the score, 22-0.
Grace Christian Academy’s varsity players were able to add six points to their scoreboard but were matched by yet another Eagle touchdown play completed by Moore, who ran the ball 38-yards and increased the Eagle’s scoreboard 28-6. Arrington then ran the ball to complete a 2-point play and increase the score 30-6.
A 28-yard run completed by Faircloth added another Eagle touchdown to the scoreboard. Reflecting this play, Arrington ran the ball again for another 2-point completed play. The score was then increased 38-6.
Billy Martin then ran the ball for a 38-yard completed play, raising the Eagle’s score to 44-6. The following 2-point play was deemed unsuccessful but the Varsity Eagles stayed solid until the end, only allowing their opponents to grasp one final touchdown before the end of the game.
The Eagles will travel to Vidalia Heritage Academy for their next Friday night under the lights. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. October 23.
