DEA Eagles to host first championship game in school’s history

The Varsity Eagles of David Emanuel Academy hosted Victory Christian Academy on Friday, November 20, where the Stillmore home team defeated Loganville visitors, 48-18.

Completing the first touchdown play for the Eagle team, Banks Booth made a successful 22-yard touchdown pass to Jesse Moore. A two-point play completion by the two varsity football players increased the score 8-0.

Racyn Faircloth added more Eagle points to the score board after completing a 1-yard run. A two point attempted played by Booth and Faircloth was deemed successful and increased the Eagle’s score 16-6.

After a fumble recovery play made by Timothy Braddock, Faircloth ran the ball for an 8-yards to gain additional points for the Eagle team. Booth and Faircloth then completed a two-point play. The score was 24-6.

Another fumble recovery play was then made by Brayden Smith for the Stillmore Eagles. Dane Arrington and Moore completed the next successful play, a 38-yard pass, for a 30-6 score.Booth and Faircloth also completed an additional two point play, and the score increased 32-6.

After two interception plays completed by Arrington and Moore, Moore furthered the Eagle’s odds of winning the night’s game by completing a 3-yard run. Braddock then ran the ball for a completed two point play for a 40-18 score.

Completing the final touchdown for the Stillmore team was Braddock with a three-yard run. Moore ran the ball to successfully complete the last two-point play of the game for a final score of 48-18.

With an undefeated record this football season, the Eagle team has clinched the opportunity to play at State Champion level. For the first time in the school’s history, DEA will host the championship game at the Stillmore field and will complete against the Warriors of Horizon Christian Academy. The game is set for Friday, November 27, at 7:30 p.m.
