DEA Eagles grasp 2020 GAPPS Region 1 Champions Title

Following a flawless season filed with nothing but wins, David Emanuel Academy’s Varsity Eagles were deemed the 2020 GAPPS Region 1 Title Champions after the teams most recent win this past Friday, October 23. The varsity Eagles travelled to Vidalia for some Friday night action, where they defeated the hosting opponent team 56-30.

Adding Eagle points to the scoreboard first was Racyn Faircloth, who completed an 8-yard run play. The two point attempt that followed was deemed unsuccessful, and the score was 6-8.

Jesse Moore increased the Eagle’s score 12-8 after completing a 92-yard run for an Eagle touchdown that was followed by a two point play performed by Banks Booth and Faircloth. The score was then 14-8.

Faircloth gained leverage for the Eagles after completing a 52-yard run for a 20-8 score. Moore followed in behind with a 94-yard fumble recovery for yet another Eagle touchdown, increasing the score 26-8. Booth ran the ball for a completed 2-point play. The Eagle’s score was then 28-8.

Running the ball for 40 yards, Moore added additional points for the varsity Eagles. A two point attempt ran by Booth was deemed successful, and the Eagles’ scoreboard reflected a lead over their opposing team, 36-8.

Moore then completed the next play, a 51-yard run, that was backed by  a 20-yard pass from Booth to Dane Arrington. The score was 48-16 and increased to 50-16 following Faircloth running the ball for a completed 2-point play. Faircloth also completed the next Eagle play by running the ball 27 yards and increasing the score 56-16.
