COVID-19 updates currently delayed

According to the county commissioners’ noon update before press time Tuesday, October 20, the office announced that due to delayed information, daily COVID-19 update reports are currently on a stand-still status with plans to resume reporting as of Monday, October 26, at 12 p.m. According to the most recent stats given, the below report reflects Emanuel County’s Covid-19 update made available on Friday, October 16. On this day, the total active cases of COVID-19 in Emanuel had increased to 53.

There had been 1,280 total confirmed cases. Of those confirmed cases, 1,189 patients have recovered while 38 have died. Altogether, 7,085 patients have been tested; 119 of those patients are awaiting results.

This week’s active count of 53 indicates an increase of 10 cases from the last report made Tuesday, October 13.

The report on October 13 was as follows:

  • 43 active cases
  • 1,262 confirmed cases
  • 1,185 recovered
  • 6,729 total patients tested
  • 108 patients awaiting results

The death count of 34 that was reported on October 13 jumped to 38 as of October 16. Prior to the increase, the death count remained stagnant since September 30.
