Cooper Scarboro celebrates fifth birthday

Remember your fifth birthday? Many of us don’t, but Cooper Scarboro will always probably remember his. He had his favorite cartoon, Sonic the Hedgehog, displayed everywhere, cake, ice-cream, school friends, a pinata, a new swing set house, and lots of presents. Cooper turned five on his birthday. He is the son of Shot and Caroline Scarboro of Statesboro and a Pre-K student at Bulloch Academy.

Family and friends were invited to his parent’s house on Saturday, December 10 at 3:00 for the joyous, celebration. Not only was the front yard and house decorated with beautiful Christmas decorations but in the front yard was a huge display spelling out “Happy Birthday Cooper!” as well as a blowup slide and bouncy house that guests were invited to play on. Cooper greeted guests in a Sonic the Hedgehog shirt and red shorts. To complete the attire, he wore Sonic tennis shoes.

The living room was festive with Sonic balloons, banners, and streamers. The bar held an assortment of delicious snacks including Boneyard Barbecue sliders, chicken fingers, and various chips and dip. Sonic tableware carried out the theme.

Cooper’s Sonic birthday sheet cake was designed in blue and white cream cheese icing. vanilla ice cream made it even better. The birthday candle was lit by his father, Shot, and was blown out by Cooper in one big puff.

Guests enjoyed playing on his new swing set house with a balcony, sliding on slides, and jumping on the trampoline. However, the hit of the day was a colorful Sonic piñata. It took the children 20 swings with the bat before the piñata broke, dumping out candy and treats.

Cooper received many fun and educational gifts. He thanked each person for their gift. His favorite was a wooden sword and shield given to him by his paternal grandmother, Wanda Scarboro. He was assisted in the present opening process by two-year old sister, Cameron Cooper.

Cooper is the maternal grandson of Faith and David Cooper of Eatonton and the paternal grandson of Wanda Scarboro of Swainsboro and the late Wayne Scarboro.
