Cookies and milk

When I think about Christmas, childhood memories come to mind. Memories of riding around and looking at Christmas lights, memories of family gathering around the table for Christmas dinner and then finally around to share all the wonderful gifts from under the tree. But of all the memories, one memory in particular comes to mind. For a believing child, on Christmas Eve night, I was told that if I wanted any presents on Christmas morning, that I had to leave cookies and milk on the table and be in bed by 9. My brother of course, being older than me, didn't believe and he would be up and down all night. But as for me, I could be found tucked tightly away right on time. And as always, on the table, the cookies and milk are the evidence of the faith of something to be.
Obviously as an adult, Christmas now has a different meaning. I now cherish those moments at the Christmas table a whole lot more than the time under the tree. But more than that, I now understand that Christmas is really about the One that would one day hang on a tree and die and give His life for me. But there are a few lessons I learned from this young boy that I used to be. I learned that with faith, comes obedience; And the evidence of something to be. So, I ask you, is your faith in Jesus demonstrated for all to see?
