Posted

This week’s cook of the week is Alexis Maurae Dickens. Alexis is a graduate of Treutlen County High School. She currently works as a para-pro for Swainsboro Primary School. In her downtime, Alexis enjoys singing with her church choir, spending time with her friends, fishing with her grandma Alice and taking selfies. Alexis celebrates her 20th birthday today! Happy birthday Alexis from the Blade staff! These are some of Alexis’ favorite recipes. Enjoy!

Pound Cake

•1 box of Duncan Hines yellow cake mix.

•1 Cup – Milk

Follow directions on the back of the box except use 1 cup of milk instead of water.

Using milk makes it taste more homemade!

Peanut Butter Cookies

•1 Large egg, beaten and sat at room temperature

•1 cup sugar

•1 cup creamy peanut butter

Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and roll level teaspoons of dough into balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet and flatten with fork. Bake 12-15 minutes and let cool on a wire rack.

Apple Tarts

Call grandma and tell her I want some!
