Cody R. Parks, 14, of Swainsboro, passed away January 9, 2022, at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro following injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, at 3 p.m. at Hawhammock Baptist Church with Mr. Cameron Kennison and Reverend Cale Pressey officiating. Interment will follow at Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Swainsboro High School & Swainsboro Middle School baseball teams, Dixie Youth Baseball Team Georgia, any other baseball players, and Swainsboro High School Class of 2025.
Cody was born January 17, 2007, in Dublin, to Tim Parks and Jessica Parks. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Bobby Finch; and maternal grandfather, Phil Brinson.
Survivors include his father, Tim Parks (Corrine Kirby) of Swainsboro; mother, Jessica Parks (William Daniels) of Twin City; brothers, Austin Parks of Swainsboro and Chase Calvert of Metter; sisters, Brianna Parks of Swainsboro and Kylie Daniels of Metter; paternal grandparents, Bonnie Finch of Garfield and Donnie Parks (Darla Crothers) of Morristown, FL; maternal grandparents, Sandy Aldridge of Adrian and Hank Aldridge of Canoochee; maternal great-grandparents, Betty Hudson of Adrian and Geraldine Tillman (Gary) of Waycross; extended grandparents, Allen & Stacy White of Twin City; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
