Much joy spread throughout Emanuel County by a glimpse of a red food truck this past Friday, and not just any food truck – The Chick-fil-A Vidalia Food Truck is responsible for all the hype seen around town last week.

On Friday, February 25, Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for The Chick-fil-A Vidalia Food Truck before its first official day in business serving the local community.

Ken Warnock, Chamber CEO, welcomed Chick-fil-A to Swainsboro and expressed the excitement the town has had for a Chick-fil-A presence at a local level. Following Warnock’s introduction, Britt McDade, owner and operator of Chick-fil-A Vidalia, said a few words about be-ing awarded the food truck and how it will allow the business to expand into rural communities throughout the area.

Kenny Griffin gave an invocation before the ribbon was cut, and all city and county representatives and Chamber of Commerce board members participated in a "first bite" with McDade before the truck took the first order.

The Chick-fil-A Vidalia Food Truck’s first day of business in Swainsboro has been deemed a huge success!

“What a warm welcome we received from the Swainsboro community! It has been a dream coming true for my team and I to be able to extend our reach with the brand of Chick-fil-A in the Swainsboro community. We were welcomed by a huge crowd that was hungry for fresh, cooked-on-site, Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwiches, Chick-fil-A Nuggets, and Chick-fil-A Waffle Fries.

We already feel at home in Emanuel County. We are looking forward to serving the Swainsboro community every Friday going forward! We look forward to serving the families, businesses, churches, and other community partners in Emanuel County as we pursue excellence together!

It was truly ‘Our Pleasure’,” McDade stated.

The food truck will return to Swainsboro on Friday, March 11, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., and again on Friday, March 25, during the same hours.
