Meet Millie Layne Watkins, six-year-old daughter of Dustin Watkins and Megan Thompson and rising first grader at Swainsboro Primary School. Over summer break, Millie has enjoyed making homemade lemonade and has decided to do something “sweet” for fellow students in the Emanuel County Schools System for the upcoming school year.

“I just wanted to do something nice for other children that are in need,” Millie says.

This Wednesday, June 29, Millie will host a lemonade stand and bake sale to raise funds for school supply purchases to help ensure students start the school year off prepared! Want to help Millie support local students and kick off an amazing new school year? If so, here’s how you can help:

· On Wednesday, June 29, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., come on down to The Forest-Blade (located at 416 West Moring Street – Swainsboro) and visit Millie’s lemonade stand.

· Bring your wallet, an appetite for fresh baked goodies and a thirst for some YUMMY lemonade. You can also bring donations (monetary or new/unused school supplies) to help with the cause!

· For each monetary donation and donations of new/unused school supplies, Millie will return the kind gesture with “sweet” treat from her stand.
