Celebrate Earth Day with a clean sweep

Posted

If you would like to show pride in your community, come out to this year’s Keep Emanuel Beautiful (KEB) county-wide cleanup “Operation Clean Sweep” on Saturday, April 22nd (Earth Day) from 9 a.m. to noon.

Participants will gather at the following locations at 9 a.m.: Swainsboro at the Boneyard, Oak Park, and Adrian at their city parks. Twin City has its city-wide cleanup date set for April 29.

At 9 a.m. a complimentary breakfast will be served, and bags and gloves will be handed out. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for raffle items from Tractor Supply and other sponsors. A list of roads and sites in need of cleaning will be provided to those who are not wishing to clean their own neighborhoods or stretches.

To spread the word, the event organizers are encouraging a strong social media presence. When bags have been filled, participants are asked to send a photo of their clean-up to the Keep Emanuel Beautiful Facebook or Instagram pages with the hashtag #KeepingEmanuelBeautiful or if they want to give their city or street a shout out, they can put their city name in the hashtag like #KeepingAdrianBeautiful.

If you would like to participate, visit the Keep Emanuel Beautiful on Facebook or Instagram. You can also contact the KEB via email at: keepemanuelbeautiful@gmail.com

Sign up for the event or just show up. You’ll be welcomed either way. Rain or shine, your KEB members will be there. Let’s take pride in our community together!
