For the past 50 years, Earth Day has been celebrated annually every April 22, by billions of people around the globe. Humanities mission is to protect the health of our environment so that it can remain “a wonderful world”, as Louis Armstrong would say, for generations to come. This year, you can demonstrate your support by joining in the Emanuel County Board of Commissioners movement to make Emanuel Beautiful by “Cleaning your Stretch”. In doing so, the Emanuel County Board of Commissioners is willing to recognize and reward any locals who participate in this campaign with a $50 gift card. All you need to do is take a few photos of yourself with your friends while participating in “Cleaning your Stretch” and tag them to Emanuel County Board of Commissioners Facebook page. Don’t forget to hashtag “Clean your Stretch” to bring awareness to the importance of a better environment through a cleaner community. There is no deadline or start date for taking care of the planet so you can begin today, tomorrow, or on Earth Day and continue for years to come. Getting outside and cleaning your community with your children and loved ones is also a great way to spend time together and to create healthy habits and life changing traditions. It is in your hands to make our world a better one for all so be the change you wish to see, this Earth Day!
