Seniors may now apply for The Candace J. Canady Memorial Scholarship through their local schools at Emanuel County Institute, Swainsboro High School, and David Emanuel Academy. Students may contact their counselors and pick up an application. Candace was a sophomore at ECI when she passed away in an automobile accident. She was a ray of sunshine - always smiling, dolling out advice and witnessing for the Lord in her morals, values, and her daily walk with the Lord. Candace relied on the Lord many times through her young life and truly believed that if it was his will, God could do anything in his awesome power. She prayed for that miracle and God delivered her from Ewings Sarcoma Bone Cancer. In the summer of 2005, God’s will was for Candace to come on home to be with him and through this, the Candace J. Canady Scholarship was established in her memory for others to witness for the Lord. This scholarship is based on Christianity - students applying believe in the Lord as their personal savior. We are looking for students that have some of the qualities that others saw in Candace as being a witness to others and a testament for Jesus.
Students receiving scholarships for 2021 were Sarah Beth Kersey from ECI, Tyler Kelly form SHS, and Chloe Calhoun from DEA. We are excited and are looking forward to the new applications for this year.

I pray that if this is a cause the Lord has laid on your heart, that you will follow through. We have the blessing to be able to wake up every morning with the comfort and knowledge that if we have accepted Jesus as our Savior, that one day we will walk on those streets of gold with Him. Let us help support other worthy young men and women to be able to spread the word of God to many others that may also be blessed with this assurance.
