In December of 1822, the City of Swainsboro was formally created by a resolution and an act of the Legislature of the State of Georgia. In our upcoming July 4, edition as a service to our readers, The Blade will include a special insert that will look back and pay tribute to the 200th birthday of our town. This will be a historical review of the milestones of Swainsboro but will also give light to the personal side of life during the different eras of our first 200 years.
