Funeral services for Buster Brown Whisnant, 66 of Wadley, were held Friday July 31, 2020 at Oaky Grove Baptist Church with Reverends Tom Aikens and Harry Hadden officiating. The family received friends Friday, July 31, 2020 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Oaky Grove Church. In compliance with guidelines set by the CDC, the 6’ rule was enforced during the viewing and service. He passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Buster Brown Whisnant was born December 18, 1953 in Jefferson to the late Wilburn Whisnant and Fannie Lee Smith Whisnant. He loved fishing, hunting, and Ford trucks. Mr. Whisnant had a grin that would make you smile. He never met a stranger. Mr. Whisnant loved his family, especially his wife of 47 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Daniel Whisnant and Nathaniel Whisnant.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Whisnant of Wadley; sons, Shawn (Teresia) Whisnant of Roanoke, Virginia, and Jeremy (Tiffany) Whisnant of Midville; daughter, Cassandra Bell of Wadley; brothers, James Whisnant, Harold Whisnant, and Homer Whisnant, all of Jefferson, and U. V. (Cheryl) Whisnant of Braselton; sisters, Mary Lou (Clarence) Norris and Eunice Kittle, both of Jefferson, and Alice McDaniel of Braselton; and grandchildren, Nikki Whisnant, Austin Whisnant, and Peyton Whisnant.
Pallbearers were Mr. Whisnant’s grandsons and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Buster Brown Whisnant to Chapman Funeral Home, 427 North Main Street, Swainsboro, GA, 30401.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
