On May 8, 2023, Compatriot Steve Burke traveled to Swainsboro from Millen to present his program, "Weapons of War, Revolutionary War to WW II". With Chair John Tapley presiding, there were 42 veterans in attendance. Tapley introduced Wiregrass Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution member Steve Burke and his SAR assistants Bill Carmichael and John Derden to present his program. Burke demonstrated Flintlock, percussion, bolt action, and semi-automatic rifles to the veterans on how they were used and the capabilities of each weapon.
