Black History Service at New Hope

New Hope World Outreach, Inc., 211 Lee Street will celebrate its Black History Service on February 12, 2023, at 3 p.m. The theme for the service is "Black Resistance." The guest speaker for the occasion will be none other than Mrs. Valorie Watkins of Swainsboro.

Mrs. Watkins is a lifelong native of Swainsboro. She is the daughter of the Late David and Geraldine Smith. One of her joys is supporting her son Marcus in his academic and sports. Her academics include graduating from Swainsboro High School and Paine College. She furthered her education by earning an Educational Leadership degree from Georgia College and State University. During her collegiate years she became a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Mrs. Valorie has served as teacher at Swainsboro Middle School and as an assistant principal at Swainsboro Primary. Currently she serves as principal of Swainsboro Elementary School. Her passion is helping students achieve success. Watkins is a member of Coleman Chapel A.M.E. Church where she serves in many capacities. She is also a member of the gospel singing group, the Huston Sisters. Others on this service are Minister Georgia Sanders, Dr. Martha Thomas, The TOG Praise Dancers, The A&J Singers, and Dei'vion Davis. Please come and celebrate this special occasion!
