Bishop Chapel Church in Summertown will be hosting Homecoming on Sunday June 4. Worship Service begins at 11 a.m. with prelude starting at 10:30 a.m. Brother Billy Brinson will be speaking with special music given by Tommy Freeman and Pianist, Gail Ware. A basket lunch will be served following the service at 12 p.m.
This year, Bishop Chapel will celebrate their 86th Anniversary as well as the 161st year of existence of the adjoining cemetery. Church members and attendees will remember the conviction of a group of men who felt there was a need for a church in the Summertown Community. On an acre of land adjoining a family burial plot, the construction of the church began and by 1937, a small wooden church was erected. Bishop Chapel invites you to join them to celebrate and remember how Bishop Chapel came to be with a special day of fellowship and worship.
