Mr. Billy T. Price, 74, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin following an extended illness. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, October 13 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Akins and Reverend Earl Warnock officiating. The family received friends Monday, October 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. Interment followed at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum. Pallbearers were Swainsboro Fire Department. In compliance with the guidelines set by the CDC, 6--feet rule was enforced during visitation and service.

Mr. Price was born February 22, 1946 in Swainsboro, the third son to the late Thurman Brinson Price and Lizzie Mae Brady Price. A lifelong resident of Emanuel County, Mr. Price resided in Kite with his parents and siblings, Larry, Hiram, and Gloria throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 1963, he met Sally Jo Oglesby while working at Swainsboro Printworks. The two later wed in a private ceremony on April 28, 1967. They bought their first home and moved to Swainsboro the following July. Mr. Price worked a number of jobs ranging from hotel bellhop, pet shop owner, and traveling salesman, befriending those he met and solidifying himself as a fixture in the community he loved. On August 1, 1972, Mr. & Mrs. Mr. Price welcomed their first child, Timothy Wayne Price, into their lives. The trio welcomed the fourth member of their family, Tonya Lynn Price Ogletree, on August 14, 1973. Mr. price joined the Swainsboro Fire Department in 1975 and was a fireman for 30 years, earning the title of Assistant Chief. He committed his heart to Christ on September 16, 1976 and strived to emulate his Lord with the love he showed to others, be they friends, family, or even strangers.

Survivors include his darling wife, Sally Price of Swainsboro; son, Tim (Renee) Price of Kite; daughter, Tonya (Dale) Ogletree of Kite; brother, Hiram Price of Adrian; sister, Gloria (Daniel) McCoy of Adrian; grandchildren, Macy Price (Kristopher Dowdy), Paige (Aaron) Ayala, Brooke (Brandon) Gay, Chase Price, and Gracie Ogletree; great-granddaughter, Lakelynn Jay Gay; beloved dogs, Babydoll and Trixxie; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
