Augusta University recently held its annual Black Scholar Recognition Program, which honors the top three black scholars at area high schools in the CSRA. Alexus Mercer, an 11th grade student at Swainsboro High School, received this honor for her outstanding academic achievements and commitment to excellence.
The event, which is in its 22nd year, was held at the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre on the Summerville Campus. The ceremony brought together students, their families, educators, and community leaders highlighting the importance of recognizing and fostering the talents of young scholars.
Mercer’s achievements are a testament to the competitive academic environment at SHS and the school’s dedication and support of its students.
