This week’s coronavirus count is down considerably from last week and dramatically from earlier this week. According to the county commissioners’ noon update before press time Tuesday, August 4, the total active cases of COVID-19 in Emanuel has decreased to 56. The active count last Tuesday, July 28, was 84 for a total difference of 28 active cases to date. The most significant difference, however, is this Tuesday’s number compared to what was reported by the county commissioners on Friday, July 31. As of the day before this week’s edition published, there were 475 total confirmed cases in Emanuel County. Of those confirmed cases, 414 patients have recovered while five have died. Altogether, 3,3,415 patients had been tested; 293 of those patients were awaiting results.

  • 317 patients recovered
  • 4 deaths
