Thursday, September 17, marked a special milestone for America Knits as the company celebrated its one-year anniversary since its 2019 grand opening. Honoring America Knits employees for their dedication and work ethics, lunch was provided to all employees. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to all employees who have remained with the company since its grand opening. One-year employees are as follows:

Johnnie Paul, Brenda Thomas, Dot Burton, Maxine Brown, Melissa Margin, Debra Brantley, Glendal Coleman, Vallie Brown, Bessie Thomas, Adele Stone, Pam Carlye, Marie Johnson, Linda Mason, Ann Watson, LaTonya Williams, and Judy Collins.

“Sewers and American-made products are in high demand these days. Here, at America Knits, we strive to provide a fitting and welcoming environment for our employees while meeting the growing demands of consumers. We appreciate our employees and the work that they perform as well as their dedication to our company. Today, we celebrate one year of business and those who have helped us along the way,” Steve Hawkins, president and co-founder of America Knits, commented.

Employees surprised Hawkins and his wife, Alejandra, with a plaque as a small token of appreciation for their dedicated leadership to the company. During the presentation of the Hawkins’ award, the following was read:

“The team members here at America Knits would like to present this plaque to commemorate the one-year anniversary of our grand opening to our president and co-founder, Mr. Steve Hawkins.

In the year we have been open, America Knits has done a complete 180. From a t-shirt plant to producing reusable PPE, answering America’s call.

If you come into the plant on any given day, there is a good chance you will find Mr. Hawkins sitting behind a sewing machine. That is what sets him apart from the rest. It has been an honor working for a man who will roll up his sleeves and work right alongside of you.

Mr. Hawkins is a determined leader with a kind heart. We have very much so become a family at America Knits. This plaque is to celebrate the beginning of the bright future ahead of America Knits! Thank you, Mr. Hawkins, again, for all that you do.”
