Amber Albritton of Swainsboro will be the featured artist at The Kalmanson Gallery of Emanuel Arts Council. An opening reception will be held September 19th, from 5 to 7 p.m. The reception for the event will be hosted by The Emanuel Artists Guild and is free and open to the public. The exhibition will run through the end of October.
Originally from Swainsboro, Amber was raised in Albany, Ga. She attended the University of Georgia, Georgia Southwestern State University, and Valdosta State University. She double majored with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and political science, and also holds a master of science in marriage and family therapy.
A self-taught artist, Amber says she draws inspiration from artists such as Frida Kahlo, and Justin Gaffrey of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. She also gathers much inspiration from nature and books. She works with acrylic, fabrics, paper, paint, and stained glass. She is active in the Emanuel Artists Guild, BUNCO, Beta Sigma Phi, and Seedling Garden Club.
Amber lives in Swainsboro with her four beloved Maltipoos, 16 koi, and “a billion bream and catfish.”
