A walk in the park

Posted

Spring is here! The birds are singing, flowers are in bloom, the grass is turning green and the days have gotten longer. There are so many sights and sounds around us to remind us we live in a beautiful place. Franklin Memorial Library would like for you to take the time to enjoy this time of year with their first “Walk in the Park” event on March 30, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Emanuel County Recreation Department located on McLeod Bridge Road. They invite you to bring the family out and enjoy an afternoon of “getting close to nature”. They will have lots of activities for children of all ages. There will be sidewalk art and painting; Family Connections will do a story book walk; Smokey the Bear will be there; books and flower seeds will be given away; the Fire Department, Police Department, and EMS will be there for the children to visit with; Head Start, Emanuel County Humane Society, and Keep Emanuel County Clean will be there with information; and learn about bees and taste their honey. The Swainsboro Kiwanis Club will provide hot dogs for the children.

So, get into the “Spring Spirit” and go out March 30, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Emanuel County Recreation Department for an afternoon of learning and fun.
