A once in a generation experience: Local sisters give birth to daughters on the same day in the same hospital

There will never be a day like the day your baby is born but for two local sisters this day will never compare to another, in more memorable ways than one. Ava Reid and Avery Lane; daughters of sisters, Hope Jones and Kelly Collins, made their grand appearance on December 21, 2021 at Meadows Hospital in Vidalia, one hour and 58 minutes apart. To deepen this extraordinary experience, the sisters found out that they were expecting on the same day, only 32 seconds apart, without the slightest inkling that the other was pregnant before sharing their wonderful news together. “We had no idea that the other sister was even pregnant.” Collins said. They both shared the same doctor and when it was time to announce the jaw-dropping news to their Parents, Donna Lane and the late Johnny Lane, they did it side by side on Mother’s Day, wearing matching t-shirts that exclaimed “She’s Pregnant!” Though this unique surprise was merely coincidence, the two would not have wanted it any other way given the choice. “Sharing the experience with each other has been the absolute best! Being as close as we are, this was just another special thing we shared together.” Bryson and Kelly Collins of Metter welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Avery Lane Collins, into the world on December 21, 2021. She made her entrance at 8:14 a.m. weighing 5 lbs. 10.5 oz. and measuring 18 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Donna Lane and the late Johnny Lane of Canoochee. Paternal grandparents are James Collins and the late Hazel Collins of Metter. Right down the hall, Bowen and Hope Jones of Aline welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Ava Reid Jones, into the world. She also made her entrance on December 21, 2021 at 10:12 a.m. weighing 6 lbs. 2.9 oz. and measuring 17 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Donna Lane and the late Johnny Lane of Canoochee. Paternal grandparents are John and Alicia Jones of Metter.
