Beaver Creek Plantation retains the First Place Team Trophy for the second year. Pictured are Jerry Webb, Billy Griffin, Keith Hubbard (holding trophy), Tripp Foy, Doug Williams and Rooster Beasley.Rooster Beasley also won the First Place Individual Competition following a shoot-off with Jim Brown of the Durden Bank team. Both men shot 24 of 25 in the original team competition.

    After a momentous victory in Thomasville in round one of the AA State Playoffs, the Swainsboro Tigers traveled to Folkston to face the highly regarded Charlton County Indians. The Indians were defeated by Buford in the AA State Championship game in 2003.     Swainsboro-Emanuel County Parks and Recreation Department will hold registration for youth basketball Nov. 15-19 at the Recreation Department, 632 McLeod Bridge Road, Swainsboro. Registration hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Youth basketball is for girls and boys, ages 8-12. First time participants must bring a birth certificate. Registration fee is $20. For information, call the Recreation Department at 237-8098.

    SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Sing Powell Tomlinson, 74, was held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Tom M .Wages Funeral Home, Snellville Chapel, with Dr. Russell G. Shinpoch and Dr. Howard Ramsey officiating. Graveside services were Sunday, Nov.14, 2004 at 3 p.m. in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Dr. Bob Blankenship officiating. He died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2004, at the Gwinnett Medical Center after an extended illness.
