    SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Jimmy Scott, 86, was held Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Moore officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004 at Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness.

    In honor of retired educators, American Education Week and Children’s Book Week, Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Cross-Green Community presented a program saluting retired and current educators and children.
