    SWAINSBORO—Funeral for Jimmy Scott, 86, was held Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Moore officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004 at Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness.

    Lester Grove presents ‘Joy Night’

    Lester Grove Missionary Baptist Church will present “Joy & Praise Night” Saturday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

    Guest speaker will be Rev. Marque Johnson, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Wadley. Selections will be by First Baptist Choir of Wadley, S&B Brotherhood Male Chorus of Sylvania, Voices of Harmony of Louisville and others.


    Piney Grove honors educators, children

    In honor of retired educators, American Education Week and Children’s Book Week, Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Cross-Green Community presented a program saluting retired and current educators and children.
