KITE—Funeral services for Ovid H. “Judge” Beasley, 60, was held Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Oaky Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Lee Price officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Born in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Donieree Poole Beasley. He was a member of Oaky Grove Primitive Baptist Church and was retired from Georgia Southern University. Mr. Beasley passed away Wednesday … Read More


Jacob Grimes celebrates at ‘SpongeBob’ party

Jacob Grimes, son of Glenn “Bubba” and Wendy Grimes, celebrated his birthday Feb. 26 at the Open Door Youth Center. Jacob was 2 years old Feb.

The theme of the party was “SpongeBob. Decorations included pineapples, palm trees, grass skirts, sand and balloons.

Guests were served a delicious meal of “Krabby Patties,” (hamburgers), Rotel dip and chips, Goldfish, ice cream, punch and birthday cake made by Jacob’s mother.

Paralegal certificate course offered at EGC

East Georgia College will offer a Para-legal Certificate Course on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays April 4, to May 26 from 6:-9:30 p.m.The curriculum, designed by the Center for Legal Studies, is for beginning as well as advanced legal personnel and consists of 84 hours of instruction over seven week period.
