Sutton sentenced in Superior Court

Timothy Jordan Sutton was sentenced in Emanuel County Superior Court Friday, Jan. 27 by Judge Kathy S. Palmer, Middle Judicial Circuit. Sutton negotiated a plea of guilty on one count of burglary. He was sentenced to the state penal system for six years to serve concurrently to any other sentence presently serving.

Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported miscellaneous cases this week:

Jan. 25

A Cobbtown woman who owns a home in Oak Park reported she rents the trailer to a couple, whom she said has not lived in the trailer for two weeks. The suspected couple also made a report that the landlord removed all her property from inside the trailer but that their lease was not up until February.

DHR issues tsunami fraud alert

The Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Aging Services is making free presentations and giving out information warning elder Georgians to be careful of fraudulent e-mail scams using the Tsunami disaster in southern Asia to defraud them of their life savings, according to Jennifer Hogan, Elder Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection coordinator.
