Video stores robbed

By JACQUIE BRASHERTwo video stores, Video Warehouse and Movie Gallery, were robbed in broad daylight within day of each other last week. Video Warehouse was robbed Wednesday, May 18 at about 11:55 a.m.

and Movie Gallery experienced the same fate Thursday, May 19 at about 10:18 a.m. Arrested for both robberies was Reginald Travon Mitchell, 23, 409 Lewis Street, Swainsboro.

Accident on U.S. 1 Bypass

Christopher Jackson driving a 1999 Ford Explorer was traveling north on U.S. 1 Bypass when Glenn Fennel of Swainsboro failed to yield when merging onto the bypass. The two vehicles collided on the inside line of the highway according to Georgia State Patrol officers. No deaths or major injuries were reported. Fennel’s Chevrolet Mailbu is pictured above.

    Among the David Emanuel Academy class of 2005 that will be attending college are Kyle Hadden and Emily Redding. Both were chosen by the Swainsboro Exchange Club to participate in the Youth of the Year program.
