The 2019 Emanuel County 4-H Project S.A.F.E. Modified Trap team wrapped up its season with the state 4-H modified trap match.

Emanuel County 4-H hosted fourth, fifth, and sixth grade 4-H’ers from 17 counties on March 23 for the annual Cloverleaf Project Achievement competition at Swainsboro Middle School.
Emanuel County was represented by 28 competing 4-H’ers, 15 Teen Leaders, and 14 adult volunteers.

The ECI Bulldog softball team swept Johnson County last week to capture their fifth region crown in the last five years.
During the 5-year, run the Lady Dawgs won the championship series against Treutlen County, three times against Calvary, and last week against the Trojans.

Thanks to a partnership between Georgia Southern University and Southeast Ford Dealers to celebrate teachers this football season, Swainsboro Elementary School teacher April Woods has been named Ford Teacher of the Game.
A photo of Woods and her students will be displayed on the video board during Georgia Southern’s game against Coastal Carolina on October 15.

Swainsboro High School students will receive their first report card Wednesday, October 16. On Thursday, October 17, parents will have the opportunity to meet with teachers during open house at 6 p.m. At this time, there will also be a mandatory parent meeting for first-time students who wish to participate in dual enrollment during spring semester.

For 27 FFA members in Area 4, long hours of practiced paid off as they competed in the Floral Design Career Development Event (CDE) held at Toombs County High School.
