An Emanuel County sheriff’s deputy is recovering from injuries received during an investigation. 

According to Chief Deputy Rocky Davis, on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at approximately 11:45am, deputies were dispatched to the Dollar General store in Oak Park in reference to a report of a suspicious person.

Jean Anderson Morgan died peacefully on May 5, 2019, in Memphis, Tenn., at Ave Maria Home with her loving nephew, Frank Gattuso and his wife, Jami, by her side. Born August 8, 1926, in Ripley, Miss., Jean lived her early years in Collierville, Tennessee. The Adrian branch of the United States Post Office received the Wiregrass Chapter’s 33rd U.S. Flag Certificate. Chair Al Smith presented the certificate of commendation to Clint Braswell, Adrian postmaster, on March 11.
