The Swainsboro Kiwanis Club recently made a donation to David Emanuel Academy to be used by their elementary science department. Dana Durden, who teaches first grade science, will be using the donation toward the purchase of a greenhouse project and a classroom set of books to complement the study.
Science education encourages an attitude of inquiry in the world around us; excites an interest in the nature and process of science; and explores the relationship of science to society, technology, mathematics, and other disciplines. Through this addition to DEA’s science curriculum, their students will gain a foundation of process skills, leading to organized reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem solving abilities. Once again, Swainsboro Kiwanis shows its dedication to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
