Meleod-Moring Camp SCV presents ‘Use of deadly force and Georgia law’

The Sons of Confederate Veterans — McLeod-Moring Camp #1386 will hold its monthly meeting on March 19. The guest speaker will be the Georgia Division Sergeant-at-Arms Lt. David Aderhold, who will present a program on use of deadly force and Georgia law. The program will be held at New China Restaurant beginning at 7:30 p.m. Guests who want to eat dinner prior to the meeting are asked to arrive at 6:30 p.m. and the meal will be at their own expense.
Lt. Aderhold will be presenting a program that covers the law on Georgia carry and the weapon permit. It will also cover justifiable use of deadly force, the Georgia code, and legal aspects of deadly force. The presentation is estimated to last approximately one hour.
Lt. Aderhold is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans — Confederate Memorial Camp #1432 located in Stone Mountain. He has been active in law enforcement for over 39 years. He retired from Dekalb Sheriff’s Office as the SWAT commander, fugitive supervisor, and trainer. He now serves as a metro Atlanta training director with a local sheriff’s office. He is active in instructing SWAT schools, and he has the following certifications: Less Lethal Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Krav Maga, FBI, PPCT, Black Belt, Dojo American Karate, Firearm Instructor, a Board member with Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (GALEFI), Departmental Training Officer, and Use of Force Instructor. He has won many awards, including Meritorious Service Award Outstanding Firearm Instructor GALEFI, and Master Firearm Instructor GALEFI, and was featured in the American Handgun Magazine in 2013.
