SPD works crash on New Street

On Wednesday, November 27, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Swainsboro Police Department was dispatched to New Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers observed an older model Crown Victoria at the intersection of New Street and Lewis Street, positioned off the road in a grassy area near Lewis Street Apartments.

Upon approach, officers observed a male subject, later identified as Brian Antino Coleman of a Braswell Boulevard address, walking around outside the crash scene.

Officers also observed a second male subject, the victim, Alexander Terri Johnson of a Lucky Street address, lying trapped under the vehicle. Johnson was unresponsive at the time officers arrived.

Officers of Swainsboro Police Department cleared the area of all bystanders and secured the scene with crime scene tape and notified EMS and fire immediately. Emanuel County Coroner Jeffrey Peebles arrived on scene and announced Johnson dead upon arrival.
