Swainsboro Christmas Parade set for next week!

The Swainsboro Christmas Parade and Carols on the Square will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019. 

Parade lineup will begin at 5 p.m., south of BB&T Bank on South Main Street. The parade will begin sharply at 5:30 p.m. The route will progress north on U.S. Highway 1, then turn onto West Pine Street, where it will continue until dispersing at Swainsboro First Baptist Church. 

Those planning to participate in the parade should complete an entry form, available at Swainsboro City Hall and on the City of Swainsboro’s website, www.CityOfSwainsboro.org. There is no charge for participating in the parade. Entry forms must be returned to City Hall by November 25. There is no fee to enter the parade.

Along with a trophy, cash prizes will be awarded for the best parade entries. First place will receive $250, second place will receive $200, third place will receive $150, and the best golf cart will receive $100.

Carols on the Square will follow the parade, featuring local entertainment, the lighting of the community Christmas tree, visits with Santa (bring your camera!), and more.

The Swainsboro Christmas Parade is hosted by the City of Swainsboro with the assistance of the Downtown Development Authority of Swainsboro. Carols on the Square is hosted by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce.
