The girls of the Girl Scout Troop 30872 in Swainsboro have been busy searching for just the right items to put in a shoebox that will go to Hillcrest Baptist Church, then to Samaritan Purse, in hopes of reaching a child in need of a Christmas gift. Each girl is hoping that the person who receives her box gets as much joy out of her gifts as she had in choosing them. For their commitment in completing the box, they have earned the Filling a Shoe Box Badge, but more than that, they learned a valuable lesson in giving.

This week, the girls will be traveling to Savannah to Camp Low for a guided hike in the morning, and they will go geocaching in the evening. Any girls who would like to join the troop can contact Renee O’Quinn at 478-455-8531 or Jessica Powell at 478-299-0845.
