The Emanuel Coalition for Cultural & Economic Development (ECCED) is proud to announce that the Barbara & Tobe Karrh Community Arts Center featuring The Historic Dixie Theatre has received a contribution in the amount of $15,000 from Pineland Telephone Cooperative, Inc.

“Pineland is proud to support the communities it serves,” stated Dustin Durden, Pineland’s general manager and a Swainsboro native. “We see the re-development of The Dixie Theatre as a wonderful project and important step to preserving the history of the community while enhancing the aesthetics of downtown Swainsboro and the quality of life for those in and around Emanuel county.”

Construction is underway on the Emanuel Arts Council’s future offices, which will be located in Barbara & Tobe Karrh Community Arts Center. Once complete, the arts center will feature a fully renovated Historic Dixie Theatre offering newly released movies and live performances, an art gallery, offices for the Emanuel Arts Council, and community meeting and educational space.

Pineland Telephone serves over 1,300 square miles with its traditional phone and internet services in all or parts of 10 counties in Georgia. Nearing its 68th year, 100 percent of Pineland’s phone and internet customers receive their services via a dedicated fiber-to-the-home network, offering gigabit-enabled broadband connections. Pineland’s mission is to offer an outstanding customer experience through the efficient delivery of progressive technology solutions in the markets served. The company achieves this mission by applying its core values of excellence, integrity, innovation, and a servant’s heart in everything it does.

The ECCED is the 501 (c) 3 charitable organization facilitating the renovation of The Historic Dixie Theatre and development of the Barabara & Tobe Karrh Community Arts Center. Follow along with the project’s progress on Facebook at @historicdixietheatre or by visiting historicdixietheatre.com.
