Carol D. Coleman, 75, beloved wife of the late Edward Eugene Coleman, of Adrian passed away at her home on Sunday afternoon, October 13, 2019.
Mrs. Carol D. Coleman was born in Swainsboro, the only daughter and the youngest of two children born to the late Morris Lee and Muriel Rawlings Lawson. She grew up in Frostproof, FL, where she graduated high school. In 1958, Coleman returned to Adrian and worked for many years at Adrian Housing as a foreman. In the mid-1970s, Coleman attended Swainsboro Technical College where she earned her certificate as a nursing assistant. After graduating from Swainsboro Tech, she worked for many years in the insurance underwriting industry. Coleman enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and providing and caring for others. She had attended Poplar Springs United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Christopher Coleman of Casselberry, FL, and Craig Coleman of Adrian; her brother, Gene Lawson (Naomi) of Thomaston; three grandchildren, Blake Coleman (Amber), Logan Coleman, and Peyton Coleman; two great-grandchildren, Gunner Coleman and Braxton Coleman; and three nephews, Jimmy, Lance, and Matthew Lawson.
Private funeral services will be held from the graveside in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Swainsboro as she is laid to rest with her parents and husband.
Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton is in charge of arrangements.
