On Friday morning, September 13, Compatriot Steve Burke traveled to Statesboro High School to present his American Revolutionary War program to Thomas Miller’s five 11th grade history classes.

Compatriot Burke shared his knowledge of colonial America with Miller’s classes. The presentations included showing various animal skins and talking about the techniques Native Americans and frontiersmen would have used to skin the animals, as well as using the furs for trade and clothing.  He also brought various axes and tools that would have been used in colonial America and discussed how they were made and what they were used for. Perhaps the highlight of the day for students was getting the opportunity to try on some of the hats and clothing made by Compatriot Burke.
