Move over trick or treat, there’s a new gig coming to town and it’s called trunk or treat. Trunk-or-treat was originally started with the aim of providing a safer environment for trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Trunk-or-treat involves a community coming together in a central location so that children can trick-or-treat out of the decorated trunks of cars.
Trunk-or-treat in Twin City is planned for October 31 at the Welcome Center. Decorated trunks will be judged, and the top three winners will be announced. If you are interest in entering your trunk in the contest, please call the Welcome Center at 478-763-2696. Please look for flyers around town announcing this event.
Also, the volunteer fire department is making plans for the Christmas parade. Vendors, food trucks and other fun activities are in the works for the entire family. The date of this event will publicized as soon as it is set. Main Street will continue its tradition of judging decorated homes and businesses and offering prizes to the winners. Start making plans how to light up your area of the community. All home owners and businesses are encouraged to participate. Please call the Welcome Center for additional information.
