For the last month, The Forest-Blade has been working behind the scenes to become digitally up-to-date. We’ve launched a video series on our new YouTube channel, we’ve implemented email newsletters, and we recently began promoting our hashtag, “#MyEmanuel.”
A hashtag is a word or phrase preceded by a hash sign (#). Hashtags are used on social media websites and applications, especially Facebook, to identify messages on a specific topic. Any time you share a post—especially photos—online that in any way relates to Emanuel County, we encourage you to use #MyEmanuel to promote our community.
From time to time, we’ll comb the various social media platforms and review the posts shared to #MyEmanuel. Anything that catches our attention will make the newspaper!
We launched our first hashtag campaign last week, just in time for school to start. Every photo we could nd linked to #MyEmanuel is in this week’s edition. Check it out for yourself! And don’t forget… Your post could be next!
