Teenagers from all around gathered at the library on December 21 for the annual teen Christmas party. The walls of the event room were decorated with Christmas scenery. A beautifully adorned Christmas tree, snowman, and giant Christmas cards graced the corners of the room, and for those wishing for a white Christmas, snowflakes were hung from the ceiling.
The youth got to know each other through conversation and interactive game play. Among the games were Christmas bingo and a Christmas version of hot potato where, when the music stopped, the individual was allowed to open one gift.
In another game, the participants held a gift in their hands while a short story was read. At the end of the story, the players were told to pass their gifts either to the left or to the right, thereby winding up with a new gift. Of course, as with any good party, there were plenty of snacks to munch on between conversation and games.
The library staff expresses its appreciation to all the teens who came to the party as well as Friends of the Library for making the event possible.
