Grand Jury indites 15 offenders

During the Emanuel county Superior Court’s January 2019 term, the Grand Jury convened Monday, January 28, 2019 with the Honorable Robert S. Reeves presiding. Elected grand jurors included Mitchell Fagler, foreperson; Brandi Hudson, assistant foreperson; and Joy Griswold, clerk. Jimmy Harper was appointed by Judge Reeves to serve as bailiff. All were sworn into duties by Judge Reeves. The District Attorney’s Officer presented 16 bills of indictment, in which the Grand Jury returned true bills for all cases. They are as follows:
Danny O’Ryan Rucker one count aggravated assault (family violence) and one count cruelty to child in the third degree.
Eugene Emanuel Thompson one count child molestation.
George Tyler Prince one count burglary in the second degree and one count theft by taking.
Tykeyvious McGahee one count theft by receiving stolen property.
Lannie Howard Morris Jr. one count sale of marijuana, one count possession of illegal weapon, one count possession of firearm by convicted felon, one count possession of methamphetamine, and one count possession of tramadol.
Thomas Parker Sr. one count child molestation and two counts cruelty to child in the first degree.
Daniel Aaron Powers one count possession of methamphetamine and one count possession of a knife during the commission of a felony.
Lonnell Willie Denson one count felony murder, three counts violation of street gang terrorism and prevention act, one count criminal attempt to commit a felony (armed robbery), one count aggravated assault, and one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
James Antonio Eliston Jr. one count aggravated assault and one count hindering emergency telephone call.
Markiee Quantas Jones two counts enticing child for indecent purposes, two counts statutory rape, and two counts incest.
David Montgomery Wright one count possession of methamphetamine, one count possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), and one count possession of firearm during the commission of a felony.
Brandon Shadon Burns one count child molestation. He also faced additional indictments of one count aggravated child molestation, one count statutory rape, as well as an additional charge of child molestation.
James Matthews Strowbridge one count theft by taking.
Norman Jackson Samples one count forgery in the first degree.
Marcus Dewayne Williams one count theft of lost or mislaid property.
There being no further business, the Grand Jury recessed until 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019.
